G Block (Day 2) August 17

You are all clever students, and I have a feeling you know much more than you think you do (and some of you think you know a lot)!  Please be prepared.  Today was rather frustrating, and I do not want other days like it.

What will you do when you have an opportunity to show me what you know?  Are you going to do the bare minimum?  That will show me that you know the bare minimum.  ou are going to have a formative in the next couple of days.  I think it will eb fun..  Ahem..  Yes, I said fun.  I’m really excited about it.  But you are going to have to get into the spirit of this.  You are going to have to be creative.  You are going to have to try.  I can’t wait to see what you are able to do with this.  I hope to have the rubric ready for you by the next class period.

  1. Finish the outline if you haven’t already.  (You should’ve had that done!)
  2. Worksheet 1.3 Practice B.  You will get two grades on this: one for communication and one for correct answers.  Please make sure you are satisfied with your answers!  (When it says “explain” that is a communication question.)  If you need to add things, come get your sheet from room 301.  You have until 1st block on Friday! Come!

H Block (Day 2) August 17 A Collection Day

I think we just crammed two days-worth of stuff into two days.  Thank you for your patience as I try to figure out where we left off.  We’ll pick back up with Section 1.4 when you return.

Next class, I will also explain the summative-ish formative that you will do the following class.  I hope to be able to give you a rubric for that in the next class.  (Don’t worry!  It really is a formative, and I’m so excited about it!!  I can’t wait to tell you about it!)  OK!  I’ll go ahead and give you a little info now!  You will use materials that I bring to class (and you may bring your own if you like) to construct something that demonstrates your knowledge of what we have done so far.  I will include things I want to see, and you will include a short description of your creation that will cover any details that cannot be shown in the actual construction.  This will be so fun!

  1. Make sure all past homework assignments are in your folder next class.
  2. Check back over your outline from 1.3 to make sure you are satisfied with your answers.
  3. I forgot about the worksheet from the last section: 1.3 Practice B.  If you need a copy of this, stop by room 301.  sorry I didn’t mention that in class.
